Where Houston unarmed security officers are posted
Hospital and healthcare coverage across the Texas Medical Center – calm, procedure-heavy work with steady schedules.
Warehouse, logistics, and truck-yard posts along Beltway 8 and the Grand Parkway, full-time and overnight.
Corporate lobbies, multifamily communities, and construction sites from downtown to Katy, Sugar Land, and The Woodlands.
What it takes to wear this uniform
The application checks all of this up front — the state eligibility questionnaire, your credentials, and your driving record acknowledgement — so nobody’s time gets wasted, yours included.
Current Level II registration
You must hold a current Texas DPS non-commissioned security officer registration. Your DPS pocket card is uploaded and verified at application.
Clean criminal history
The application includes the standard Texas DPS eligibility questionnaire, answered under certification. Every answer gets an individualized review – a record is a conversation, not an automatic no.
Clean driving record
A clean driving history is a condition of employment with Mayer Security, on every post, armed or not.
Documents ready
Texas driver license and DPS pocket card are uploaded with the application (PDF, PNG, or JPEG). A current resume is strongly recommended.

Unarmed Security Jobs in Houston: quick answers
Do I need my Level II certificate before I apply?
You need a current Texas DPS non-commissioned registration (the pocket card) to be placed on a post, and the application asks you to upload it. New to the industry? Complete the Level II course first – it is short and inexpensive – then apply. We support officers who want to progress to Level III and IV from there.
Are part-time schedules available?
Yes. Unarmed posts run the widest range of schedules we staff – full-time, part-time, nights, and weekends. Tell us your availability honestly in the application and we schedule against it rather than around it.
Where are the unarmed posts in Houston?
Everywhere the metro works: the Texas Medical Center, downtown and Galleria office towers, warehouse corridors along Beltway 8, multifamily communities inside the Loop, and construction sites across Harris and Fort Bend counties. Tell us your area and shift preferences in the application – Houston has enough volume to honor them more often than not.
